Amazon failed to state up front that Tissot does not warranty it's products sold online. After trying to register this product with Tissot, I returned to the Amazon site to find that under warranty is noted, "Amazon". Hopefully nothing will go wrong with this otherwise fine watch which performs as represented.

Amazing Gaget
written by Guest , July 26, 2008

I bought this watch about 2 months ago. I was able to play with one that a guy at work had. Five minutes and I just HAD to have one! It is truly an amazing device! I love the functions. One really great feature this has, it's the first watch I have owned that the crystal really doesn't scratch. The Titanium model is so light you'll forget your waring it. I like to have my watches set to my PC and this one is right on!

Ok now the down side...The band has to be sized and if your weight goes up and down, you'll have a problem. When the band is cut there is no going back. You will have to buy another band if you want a larger size again. There should be some more adjustments for the band. It looks good but I am not really that happy with it.....oh yeah it makes your skin smell under it too.

The illumination is not very good so you can't use the functions at night. Tritium markers would make this watch 100% better! I paid $475 through Amazon but I have seen them go for $850 at jewelry stores. All in all....a wonderful little gadget.

Great watch but not great size
written by Guest , July 26, 2008

Watch was listed as having a 43mm case, but it is actually a good bit smaller. Watch and features are awesome. Touch sensitivity works great. Titanium is so light you almost don't know it is there. This watch would be highly recommended if it were a little larger. A strap and buckle would also give more flexibility in uses.

An Wonderful Watch with minor issues
written by Guest , July 26, 2008

I have had this watch for over a year - maybe closer to two years. I have enjoyed the watch very much and here is why.

First, I am a gadget guy. I like the compass, alarm, and other features. However, if I don't use the features regularly I tend to forget how to do it. You would not think that a touch screen and three buttons could be complicated (and almost none of the functions are complicated) but twice a year when the time changes I have to peek at the manual to remind myself how to change the time. As a minor complaint, to get an accurate temerature reading you have to take the watch off your wrist and put it on a table or something room temperature. Your body heat warms the watch and makes any reading inaccurate.

Second, I am rough on watches. They tend to get bumped and banged and I have chipped the glass face on an untold number of watches. When I purchased this watch from a jeweler in Philadelphia, he told me that the Tissot faces use a crystal that is scratch and chip resistant, and he was right. I still don't have a single chip or scratch on the glass!! There are some abrasions on the metal surrounding the crystal though.

Now here is what I don't like. Usually, I get watches with a metal band because leather after a while tends to ... well ... smell. I hate leather bands that get smelly and you move your arm near your face and you suddenly wonder what died. I thought that rubber would not have this problem. I was wrong. Every week I have to wash the band with soap and I rub the band down with alcohol. It is a pain. I had begun to tire of this routine and decided to purchase a metal Tissot band. (My second complaint) I called the jeweler and requested a price for a band. He called a few days later and told me it was $150!!!!! I asked why and his response was simply that is what Tissot charges and he thought it was insane too. For that much, I would be half way to another Tissot watch.

To conclude, I am very please with the time keeping, functions, style, size, and durablity of this watch. The smell of the rubber band is my only complaint.

Tissot purchase

My son wanted a watch for xmas. We did some research and Amazon had the best price for the watch. It was the 11th hour and still got the watch super fast on time! The watch is excellent and my son was thrilled to bits! Thanks Amazon!

Nice Quartz Watch & Conversation Piece

I purchased this SS T-Touch with Rubber Strap right before it was available in the US. I have only changed the battery once. The only complaint is that the strap was not available in larger size.

DO NOT BUY A TISSOT!
written by Guest , April 07, 2009

DO NOT BUY A TISSOT! I purchased the watch on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship out of Venice in July of 2007. I LOVED the watch, and am a big outdoorsman that used the compass and altimeter, barometer--everything a lot hunting bighorn sheep in the Rocky Mountains. I literally thought I could be a commercial for TISSOT TOUCH. Last summer the watch quit working, and then started again, it worked on and off for a few months intermittently stopping--I assumed it was the battery and when it finally stopped for good I took it to my jeweler to have the battery replaced. He could not open it, which I discovered was a good thing because the warranty would have been void. I then contacted TISSOT through the website, and within a few days Veronica responded Friday, November 7, 2008, 9:14 AM. Since then I have been in touch with Time Tech, a referred watchsmith on your list, I sent them the watch (WITH a battery, since I expected that was the issue) only to discover after several weeks of persistence, that they do not work on the TOUCH and sent it away. It then took me quite some time to receive any further information as to where the watch went, who has it, what they are doing with it, when I will get it back. Of course, all this time, I was still thinking I had an $800 watch. I finally receive, after persistence once again, information that they sent it back to "the factory" and I cannot call them because Time Tech sent it to them and is the customer, not me, so they will not talk to me. OK, fair enough, after all I am getting my watch fixed for free, it is a warranty issue obviously--what happens next? I receive an estimate for $400, $245 minimum from TIME TECH. Where is the estimate from "the factory" or is the watch being repaired under warranty and Time Tech is charging me $245.00 to coordinate it? Also, why could I not send it to the factory in the first place? At this point I am thinking of tossing the watch and regretting the whole purchase--I can't even sell it, it doesn't work, and functional used one can be purchased for $290.00 on ebay--that is what I am being charged just to get mine back. I have been told that I need to get the battery replaced about 1/year (?) That seems like a pretty big hassle for an $800 watch. Did I make a mistake in buying TISSOT? As cool as the watch is and as much as I loved it for one year, that is a pretty expensive short term investment.
