Imagine a romantic stroll along the Champs de Lysee. But what would Paris be today, had it not been for that faithful day when the Allied forces stormed the French beaches of Normandy? Stührling Original has designed a timepiece in tribute to that victorious event with The Normandy. On first glance the feature that will capture your attention is the open heart complication at the six o?clock position, but upon a closer examination there is much more to the design than merely exposing a balance wheel. The bridge itself has been skeletonized for even more visibility. However, what separates this open-heart complication in the Normandy from most others, is what lies beneath the bridge and yet above the balance wheel?..a rotating propeller style wheel which makes one full revolution every sixty seconds! The rotating propeller adds to the illusion of the open heart actually being a tourbillon complication! The Normandy multi-complication masterpiece is controlled by the pull-out knurled edge crown and the four recessed pushers on both sides of the case (two on each side). Gazing through the decorated screw-down exhibition case-back with beautifully beveled edges, you will see the spectacular 29-jewel mechanical automatic movement in all its glory. .
