About Stuhrling Original 63C.334511 / 63C334511:
The Stuhrling mens Adamas Open Heart Oval watch features a sleek design and unique detailing that make it the perfect everyday timepiece for both casual and business engagements. Constructed with a 39-millimeter gold-tone stainless steel case, the timepiece includes a gold-tone stainless steel bezel and a rich brown leather wristband with an adjustable buckle clasp for the perfect fit. A superior synthetic sapphire window protects the luminous silver dial face, which features gold-tone Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals, a gem-encrusted design at six oclock that strikingly counterbalances three chronograph sub-dials that display the hours in Roman numerals at 12 oclock, the 24-hour clock in Arabic numerals (beginning at 12 oclock) located between nine and 10 oclock, and a beautifully designed night/day dial. In addition, this handsome timepiece includes automatic-self-wind movement, and is water resistant to 100 feet.

Interesting Design

I bought this watch about a year ago. I collect watches and currently own about 15 watches, ranging in price from $50 to over $5k. Most of my watches are sport/dive watches. I do like classic dress watches as well, but just can't bring myself to spend mega-bucks on that type of watch (my expensive watches are all divers).

I like the look of this watch. The strap was a little stiff, but is breaking in nicely. Over the 12 months I've owned it, I've probably averaged about 1 day per week with it on. It is a tad too thick for my tastes in dress watches (at least 2 mm less would be better). I can get a long shirt sleeve over it (at least some of my shirts not all), but just barely. I like the face size as it has good presence on my wrist. I am over 6' tall and have medium to large wrists, so this large watch doesn't look too big on me. I'd imagine those with smaller wrists will find this too big. The dial is nicely decorated, although close examination reveals a few faults in the finish (eg., name badge looks like it was poorly glued on the face and the upper dial doesn't evenly cut into the 55, 60, and 5 numbers). I am very picky however, so folks casually looking at the watch will never notice these faults. The crystal is very interesting, in that it appears to curve inward and around the edges -- something I had never seen in a watch before, and which adds to its visual appeal in my opinion.

I'm not sure what movement is in the watch, but I'm 99% certain it is a lower end Chinese one. Not a problem, though. I never expected a Swiss or Japanese movement in a watch this cheap. I'm usually not a fan of cheap open heart watches that are trying to act like they have a tourbillion complication. This watch's open heart though adds a little something to the design that I really appreciate. The exhibition back is not badly done, although the movement is not all that interesting to look at.

I would take this unique styled watch over a knock off watch any day. Both may have similar low end movements on the inside, but the unique and appealing design of this watch made me a happy camper. My fellow watch aficionados all noticed when I bought this watch and gave it an immediate thumbs up, a few assuming I had purchased an exotic Swiss watch. A few were disappointed after inspecting the watch, but I think they are just snobs and felt foolish for approving the look of a cheapo watch :-)

Knock on wood, I've had zero mechanical issues with this watch and it keeps time within all expectations for a mechanical movement (since I wear it about once or twice a week only, I need to reset the time anyway because I don't keep it on my watch winder). Can't say that about my very expensive Tag, which I no longer wear because I refuse to send it to be serviced every few months.
