Named The Emperor for its ?open heart? exhibition in homage to the famous fable of The Emperor and the Nightingale, this magnificent timepiece lives up to its title. The fable is a wonderful story in which the beautiful voice of a singing bird nurses the Emperors failing heart back to health. Once saved by the nightingale, the Emperor?s heart was indeed transformed. Once a self-centered and cold hearted ruler, the Emperor became altruistic and pleasurable with a beautiful and tender heart which all those in his kingdom could easily see! The Emperor has all the usual Stührling Original features that we have become synonymous with: 21-jewel self-winding mechanical movement; Krysterna? crystals (front and back); 5 ATM water resistant; alligator embossed genuine French leather strap with a deployment-clasp-with-buckle clasp; decorated screw down exhibition case- back; Côtes de Genève decoration on the movement with blued steel screws and a Damier finish on the Stührling signed rotor; solid 316L surgical grade stainless steel case; the rose-gold executions are fused with 16K rose gold; and a gem cabochon set in the knurled edge onion style crown. All in all, The Emperor is about as dressy of a watch as you will ever find and will get you looks, stares, conversation and complements galore at even the most formal of affairs!

Ordered this Stuhrling watch for my husband for Christmas. Wanted a watch with larger face and hands that were easy to see. This watch is the perfect size and met all the qualifications. He likes the vintage look and is very happy with the watch.

I bought a few weeks ago this watch, and it exceed my expectations. The photo does not reveals the greateness of this watch. It has an excelent weight, the clasp is the actual swiss one, the gold plated in the watch makes it very fancy, the saphire glass is excelent and the best of all, the machine runs smooth. For the price you pay, you can compare this watch with any brand watch with a price of 5 or 6 times more this one. I am definitely going to buy another STUHRLING watch since they have prooven to me that they make excelent time machines.

I found the clasp exceedingly complex and difficult to close. I would recommend this only to those who have extraordinary vision, dexterity, and a high degree of mechanical smarts.
To make things worse, there are no instructions with the watch and the clasp is of a type I've never seen before.
