Watch description
About Seiko SXGM28:
SEIKO 5 - the meaning of the "5" A great marketer had the idea in the 70ies: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the following 5 (five) attributes (thus the name SEIKO 5): 1. Automatic, 2. Water resistant, 3. Shock resistant, 4. Date, 5. Day. Please note that some SEIKO 5s are in fact SEIKO 4s, if the "Day" function is omitted, then the Caliber 7S25 is used. The only difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of the day wheel. Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26. Please note that all these movements beat at a rate of 21600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second). As a comparison, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21600 bph. Why do I mention these three movements? Because they are found in probably 80% of all inexpensive automatic wrist watches. A market share that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by an increasing share of inexpensive China Made automatic movements An automatic watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanical watch, typically with a balance wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the motion of the wearers arm, instead of having to be wound manually every day. Whereas a quartz watch is powered by electricity, a mechanical watch is powered by a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time

I purchased this watch as a gift for my wife at Christmas. After looking at a number of alternatives - both on-line and in stores - the Sieko Diamond Accent represented the best blend of looks and technology. The watch came in perfect condition, started without hesitation and has, for the first two weeks kept perfect time. There are more expensive time pieces on the market, but why pay for jewelry if you're looking for a stylish, accurate, affordable watch? The Seiko brings stylish looks, performance, and outstanding reputation at a very affordable price.

The latch on this watch is excellent and nicely hidden. The face is readable and the mother of pearl is beautiful. The watch and its diamonds are discrete but elegant. I'd purchase this watch again.

This is a good value and simple machine to use. Problem is that it took about 12 readings and then quit. Checked the batteries, used the ac adapter... no joy.. so I return for refund and went to local drug store and bought differ brand.

I ordered this watch for my wife's anniversary gift. She loves it's bracelet-like look and the perl face with the diamonds. It looks as good as more expensive watches. We have had several Seiko watches and they all have been excellent. I can recommend these watches knowing that they have all been good quality instruments. At first she wasn't too sure about the type of clasp the band has. I had to show her how it fastened, but after catching it on something at work that would have pulled a more traditional watch from her wrist she decided that she likes the design. This also makes an excellent watch for dress occassions with the classy expensive appearance it sports. I have heard some folks comment on Seiko's being maybe over priced, but I can tell you that you get what you pay for. I have a men's Seiko watch that's over twenty years old and still keeps excellent time. The down side to it was it tended to eat batteries and they were hard to find. I haven't had the problem with newer watches. So, maybe that won't be the case with this one.

This ladies gold-tone stainless steel women's watch features eight tiny diamond accents (four on each side of the bezel) and a fashionable white Mother of Pearl dial. It has a vertically oval silver watch case that blends seamlessly into the gold stainless steel bracelet band, which is composed of smooth oblong links. Other features include a highly polished gold Cabochon crown with black gem center, gold tone baton hands (with second hand), dotted dial markers (with Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock), scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet).
This Seiko watch is covered by a limited 3-year manufacturer's warranty (includes 1st year worldwide coverage with 2nd and 3rd years valid only in the United States). This warranty does not cover the strap, crystal, watch bracelet, or battery.
This is a striking watch, both at first glance and upon close inspection. Of all the Seiko, Pulsar, and other brand watches that I have seen, this one is absolutely the most beautiful of them all. This watch is dressy without being too gaudy. It is small and unobtrusive without becoming non-functional by being too small. The lines of this watch flow smoothly from band around dial in a very artistic manner.
This watch is competitively priced, and the company was very quick in shipping the watch. They were also very helpful when I called. Definitely recommended!
