Bought this watch for my time sensitive husband. He has determined that this watch only loses 1 second per week. He has never had a more accurate watch. Very pleased with this purchase.

First off, gotta say I love this watch. Unfortunately, I chose this one over other less expensive Seiko's because I needed one with a countdown timer and alarm. It's so quiet I can barely hear it in a silent room with the watch held close to my head. Nope, no hearing problems. Just an extremely quiet watch.

For long time I liked Japaneese Watches and specially SEIKO. Reliability and accuracy better than other watches which cost 10 or 20 times more, while the looks and touches, and the weight are among the best in the world.

The usual quality with a nice price!
Modern watch that never goes out of style!

The Seiko sportura watch is very attractive and accurate, but has a couple shortcomings. The alarm is worthless as it is so feint you can't hear it in a silent room. There appears to be no way to zero- out the rcll mode and Seiko Cutomer Service didn't respond on the subject.
Other than that it meets all my needs for two time zones in a handsome package.

I ordered this watch on amazon.com. The watch wasn't in its original case, and its manual and so called "guaranty' was out of its "case" and VERY dirty. It's a shame that amazon.com works with such a bad seller.

I am very happy with this watch. I've had Seiko watches in the past. The analog watch face has great contrast making it easy for my old eyes to tell time even with my glasses off. There is one minor problem involving the easy of pushing the function button at the 8 o'clock position. I find I can depress the button by flexing my wrist when I'm typing. this causes the watch to shift modes. It's a rare event, but that's something to think about for the future. Another problem is the lack of back lighting the digital panels. This would be nice for times when you're in the dark and want to see the time.

I read the review about the too quiet alarm and this troubled me as I use the alarm a lot and was interested in the Seiko SNJ019 model. So I went to the mall and tried one on my wrist and set the alarm to go off in a few minutes while I talked with the salesperson. This was at a kiosk out in the open area of the local mall with a normal amount of people walking by and talking, and I clearly heard the alarm when it went off. I am almost 60 years old and do have some hearing loss, but not enough to need any hearing aids. I think the alarm volume is fine. This is May 2009, so maybe Seiko changed something between 2007 and now.

I paid $400+ for mine at a mall a couple of years ago and have no regrets. I use the countdown timer several times a day (tea timer) with no problem; plenty loud for me. One feature that I'm surprised they don't brag about more is the synchronization between digital and analogue. I reset the digital time every week or two (never off by more than a second or two) and the minute hand stays in perfect synch automatically. The overall look is analogue, which important to me, because that's how I perceive time. The digital gadgets are available when I want them (often), but are otherwise hidden from view--very nice. My only gripe is minor: in the late afternoon (okay, twice a day) the hands interfere with viewing the digital numbers. I'm only here now, because I was looking to see if anything better has been invented; nope.
