This is simply the best watch IMO, that being said, not sure how many folks would actually want to go diving and potentially scratch/damage their Omega.
Fit and finish is absolutly perfect, the bold face, wavy background and simple yet stunning lines are only appreciated by true watch lovers. Many folks think $1K+ is too much for any watch, they are simply wrong.
On the flip note, I do have a Seiko dive watch SKX173 (also a fantastic watch)... that I do not mind banging and possibly damaging again, price does matter when it comes to rough sports.
My TAG diver is also very nice but nothing compares to the Omega.

This watch definitely lives up to it's reputation. Great looking watch but still functional for every-day use. Amazon offered the best price too!

I have to say this watch is gorgeous. When you're wearing it and look down it looks like it's worth at least two times the price. I bought the quartz one because it's not a daily watch for me. I definitely would reccomend this watch before jumping to a rolex because it's quite comparable. The waves on the watch gives it a razor sharp look which is unique to the omega brand.

I've owned this exact Omega Seamaster model for 5 years now (and haven't yet needed to change the battery). It only gains 5 seconds per month (that's only 1 minute per year !). I have owned 2 Rolex watches (both Explorer II) at different times in the past. Both Rolex watches consistently lost 5 minutes per month.
This Omega Seamaster is a real "man's watch" - big, heavy, solid, great looking, water & shock proof, and you'll look good wearing it anywhere - to the beach, the club, the office, or the golf course. You may not look like Pierce Brosnan in 007 (check out his Omega Seamaster), but you'll certainly feel like "Bond, James Bond" when you strap this one on.

A fool for the beauty of it, I purchased this Omega just short of a year ago. Thought I would have it for life. It stopped working last month after a day of simple recreational diving (and no, I did not open the helium-release valve). Today I heard from the Omega-listed customer service center that it would cost more than $1000.00 to repair. A 300 meter dive watch that didn't last 30? Please.... What use is a "warranty", if it will still cost more than half the original price to repair? Is this the level of customer service you would expect at this price? Not for most people, I would expect. This has nothing to do with the good service at Amazon. This has everything to do with Omega not standing behind their product. What a disappointment!

Great watch, however...
The MSRP on this watch is only $1700. I've been to several reputable watch dealers in my area and all of them have stated the $1700 MSRP and then they all offer at least 15% off of that. Plus free lifetime battery replacement while you wait.
Omega specifically recommends against buying their watches online as many are not authentic and will not be covered under warranty unless they are purchased from an authorized dealer.

I've had mine for a while now and it is in perfect condition, when they created the Rolex brand they compared it to the Rolls Royce, this Omega to me is like the Hummer HX - it is built like a tank but it is very smooth and fine like a Bentley - I wear this watch to impress and because I basically LOVE it. If you buy it from Amazon you get the Amazon warranty which is the same as any other warranty. I trust Amazon with all my buys and if this is what you are looking for, you wont be disappointed.

The Omega Seamaster quartz is a fine timepiece. I say this after owning it for almost 3 years. It has kept time without skipping a beat and no problems at all with the stainless steel bracelet or clasp. I wear it almost constantly - at the office and on weekends. I wear it when I bike, when doing yard work, when I swim. I've worn it snorkeling in the Caribbean, down to a depth of about 15 - 20 feet with no problems. I just rinse it off when it gets sweaty or dirty. The functioning rotating bezel is a simple way to keep track of elapsed time. I like the durability combined with simple good looks.
There are a lot of watches that go for this diver's style with rotating bezel and stainless steel band and body. The ones at much lower price points generally look cheap up close, and I suspect they won't hold up as well to hard use. You can tell that everything about the Omega is high quality the second you take it out of the box. It's a fairly expensive watch, but definitely more affordable than the similarly styled Rolex Submariner.

There is both good and not so good news with this review. The good news is, that as all transactions with Amazon, this one has been wonderful. The watch is not a fake. (First thing I looked into) And it is absolutely beautiful. If you like the Rolex Submariner, but don't feel like forking out $5800, this is a great substitute. Looks very much the same for much less than half the price. Great size - not too big or too small.
Now the not so good news. This watch is no longer made by Omega. If it is one you are looking for, you may have to search hard. There are some good websites that will show you what to look for to ensure you do not have a fake. But, the price has gone up as the supply of these watches continues to go down.
