  About Gucci
  Guccis colorful history begins in 1921, with family patriarch Guccio Gucci selling leather travel bags out of his shop in Florence. An excellent craftsman with a taste for European cosmopolitan style, Gucci went on to create compelling designs with luxury appeal, such as the now iconic bamboo-handled "Jackie O" handbag. After Guccio Guccis death in 1953, the company, then run by his sons, continued to flourish, opening stores in Tokyo, Paris, London, Beverly Hills, and Palm Beach.
