Piaget Wins 2008 Watch of the Year Award by Montres Passion |

The jury of the magazine Montres Passion has selected "Altiplano, eccentric small seconds" as the 2008 Watch of the Year. The jury described it as perfect “perfect design, elegance and pure lines, finesse and excellent extra-thin movement”. In Geneva on 29th October at an award ceremony Philippe Léopold-Metzger, Piaget’s CEO, was presented with the Trophy
The “Da Vinci Vintage Automatic” which is manufactured by IWC, wont second place and third place was awarded to “Instinct Basic 4851 Four Time Zone” by Rodolphe.
The Ladies’ Watch of the Year award was won by Piaget’s model “Magic Hour”.
The Jury’s Special Prize, a “personal” prize awarded for an exceptional timepiece or to watch desiger was given this year to the “Diane, minute repeater” from Harry Winston.
The winners were chosen from some forty finalist. Those finalists were selected out of over a hundred new models that were launched on the Swiss market.
Short-listed models were presented to the public through a competition on a dedicated website where public could vote for their favourites between September and October of 2008. Diamond Flower by Perrelet wonwith highest number of votes, which was awarded with Swiss Public Prize
