Basel 2008 - Mr. and Mrs. Michael Friedberg have shared these photos and impressions of the new Perrelet Diamond Flower Collection. To see photos and their impressions click read more!
As you know, Perrelet has had for some time men's watches with a double-rotor, including a small one on the dial side. This is because they claim to be the inventor of the the automatic watch.
What they've done is create a woman's watch, also with a double rotor, but the dial side one is shaped like a flower. They call the new line "Diamond Flower" and my wife was quite taken with it. The rotor spins, of course, with motion, creating quite an effect. And unlike watches by companies such as Chopard, the moving diamonds actually serve a purpose! They told me that the model was designed in house by a female.
It's a a shame I don't have an animation, but these were quite intriguing. The watches are 38mm and priced from 7200 CHF to 22,600 CHF. The ref 2038 here (which is steel) is 12,150 CHF and the 3015 is 10,200 CHF. My wife thought the prices were reasonable enough that she is thinking of ordering one, with availability in about 6 months.
